The Hampton Inn & Suites Sacramento-Elk Grove Laguna I-5 generally receives positive feedback, particularly regarding staff friendliness and room size. However, there are recurring concerns about cleanliness, particularly regarding bathroom conditions and carpet maintenance, and a troubling incident involving alleged fraudulent billing and a lack of accountability. Recent reviews highlight inconsistent experiences with hygiene and potential issues with room security and privacy.
The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful! The breakfast was pretty decent. The rooms are very spacious, but I do think it needs a deep carpet cleaning or a plug in air freshener! The room had a little bit of an odor. The room service crew did a pretty good job at changing the sheets and giving us new towels/wash cloths.
My Son and his wife stayed here three nights. They checked out on Tuesday and there were no issues. They find out days later there is an additional 450$ charge for “room repairs”. When they called on Saturday the person who answered said they didn’t see any notes or issues and to call back today (12/29/2025) and speak to the manager Kim. This manager said the closet door was shattered. They never shattered the door and the manager has yet to even provide proof. He asked for pictures and nothing has been sent. Sounds like a scam. I have stayed at Hampton Inn many times but I would avoid this one if they fraudulently bill days after check out. I advised my son to call the headquarters in Virginia. Maybe this “Kim” has a habit of ripping people off. How do we know who shattered the mirror? It could have been housekeeping. Do people need to take a video and pictures of their room when they check out because of scams like this? Update: My son and his wife, both active duty military, finally received a picture of the broken mirror. Apparently the door to the room opens all the way to the glass of the closet door. Now someone likely opened the door too far, but it was not my son. They checked out early am with their 3 year old who was asleep to hit the road home. My guess is housekeeping opened the door and the mechanism that keeps the door from opening too far was not working. Well 450$ later my son is trying to fight this at a corporate level. We found another review with the same experience. My suggestion is for you to stay at a nicer place with better management. Also take video and pictures of your room when you leave so you don’t get scammed.
We stopped at n route from Seattle to Palm Springs. The front desk staff Viviana went out of her way to help us accommodate our party near one another and even found a safe spot to store our bikes for the night. The rooms are immaculate - ice close to the rooms. And dog friendly! Thank you - will will be back!
Stayed here twice on a trip to phoenix. Got the king suite and room was EXCELLENT! Huge room, comfy bed, perfect layout with sofa and chair, huge desk, etc. Staff was amazing and kind. The night guy is slightly odd, but nice. Near fast food, right off freeway but super safe parking. Quiet too. Highly recommend!
I stayed here twice and have been traveling a lot. Compared to other hotels (5 so far over the last two months), this ranks near the bottom for cleanliness (just the rooms) and the best for front desk service. The room was okay during the first stay, but housekeeping didn’t care to clean the high touch areas like the faucets or the remote control. The faucet in the kitchenette area was dirty from the previous guests and there was a coin on the countertop that I (purposely) left to see whether they even wipe down the counters at all. The answer is no; they did not because the coin remained in the same place the entire week. The photos are of my second stay where the toilet had hair all over it, the faucet was covered in dust and hair, the hairdryer had hair stuck in it, there was a thick layer of dust everywhere and the sheets on the second queen bed were dirty. If the hotel or housekeeping management wants to see the timestamps for the photos, I’m happy to text them to you. The pictures of the toilet and faucet were taken immediately after checking in and the rest were taken the next morning. After seeing all this, I decided to mark the sheet on the first queen bed and as you probably guessed, the sheets were never changed. I talked to the housekeeping supervisor who was very gracious but explained that they get half an hour per room (among other excuses). This is an epic fail because it isn't enough; the housekeeper clearly needs more time to do the job right. It's a shame because everything else about this hotel is great. Again, the front desk staff are amazing, the size of the rooms is great, and the amenities are very nice. I submitted a review for the first stay to the hotel’s internal records – the questionnaire they give you at checkout. And although I hate to affect the hardworking people that help make our lives easier, this time however, it was too much to ignore. Too bad.
While most of the staff have been pretty good, it's the building in and of itself, wall paper peeling and dirty in the halls, rooms. Things in our room that are supposed to be secured to the wall are only partially secured the middle nightstand was all sticky from something spilt and there was so much trash under the bed as well. The most disturbing things, the pool area at night is pitch black and all the furniture was covered in mostly black widows but there were just tons of spiders all together. Even after a complaint the pool was reopened the next day with everything covered in webs and spiders still lingering about. Once we realized at night, about the spiders, my youngest had a black widow mere inches from her leg. We are here for a soccer tournament and getting bit by one of those spiders could have sidelined her from the tournament. This place is rather disgusting and not worth 750.00 we paid for 3 days, a partial refund would suffice or should be considered.
First impressions the room looks nice and it looks clean, so that was awesome. As of now, the stay is still good. The curtains are so awesome at eight am I thought the sky was broken with how dark it was in here lol my only issue was connecting my PlayStation 5 to the internet, but remember back in the day when everything you owned didn't need WiFi. That's why I'm leaving my review at 5 stars.
Older hotel but very clean and orderly. Farida and Ahmad are some of the most professional staff I have had the pleasure of interacting with and made my check-in and out a breeze. There were good parking spaces for my work truck. Easy to hop on the highway and get to the city even during morning rush.
This hotel was very clean and comfortable. Front desk people are friendly and helpful. They even provide free water bottles! Bathtub had a non-slip mat and a grab bar - very helpful to older travelers like us. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the area clean and well kept. We don’t travel often these days and this hotel was a pleasant place to spend the night. Thank you to the staff.
We came here because the motel we chase originally wasn't the best choice. It was the best decision we made. This motel is 100 percent better. The man working the desk made sure that he personally verified our room was the room we needed for handicap acabs to the shower. I hope I don't completely slaughter his name but it was Monsous. You will also get the most excellent service and treatment from Farida who works the desk in the evening. She is always smiling, polite, and will go out of her way to help you. Then there is Angela who works in the kitchen for the free breakfast in the morning from 6 am to 10 am. She went out of her way to help me put together 2 plates for me and my husband and then wrap them up for me so it would be easier to take back to our room on my mobility scooter. It is also pet friendly and has a huge flatscreen TV. What more could you ask for. All of this and a reasonable rate.
